As a lot people already know, I spend a lot of my time searching the Web for stories that are relevant to CBC clients. Well, just today I came across a story that revealed that 24 percent of European Union households have now turned their backs on fixed lines completely, as they are now using mobile phones instead. (Finland -- home to mobile marvels Nokia -- actually came in at 61 percent!) If this is the way of the future, then count me in! I know that Consult Hyperion (http://www.chyp.com/) is doing a lot of work in the area of mobile payments – where you can use your phone to pay for all kinds of stuff – and that strikes me as a superb innovation, as well.
People have been talking about a 'cashless society' for years . . . maybe it is finally coming true? That suits me, as I never seem to have any cash anyway!
