Google Analytics for ROI

34
Social Media needs to bring Return on Investment (ROI) like any other aspects of PR and Marketing, and Google Analytics is a tool for measuring return on the time spent on Twitter, Facebook or writing Blogs. I’m preparing our usual Google Analytics report just now and it is really rewarding to see that every new blog just pulls more people to the site – and every new page visitor is a potential client. Of course some blog headlines pull more visitors than others, but what really counts is that everyone in your team gets involved in it to make it a bit more interesting for visitors by airing more opinions and introducing topics - and of course it should be a bit fun as well. Seeing the results, can also give you a little psychological help in motivating colleagues to getting involved with twittering or blogging.

Of course it is difficult to establish a good routine as it shouldn’t be a chore you have to do every Tuesday at 3pm, but something that comes naturally when you feel the need for sharing your thoughts with the world. So try to have some fun blogging from time to time. Even TV Techies like Jason Bradbury from the Gadget Show just twittered about his bad blogging habits of blogging loads one month and none at all in the next month – so don’t worry! You are not the only one! (We had a very quiet summer as well J )
