Continuing on from my blog on how good relations (!) with the postman, who is now a postwoman - well, I should say, has now been subsitituted by a very smart postwoman on a very nice looking new Vespa - were successful in establishing a regular delivery of post to my postbox (to the exclusion of most of my neighbours), the plot thickens.....
Not only has the postal service been franchised out which is worrying enough as I will now have to re engage with a new official, and plead my case for post to be delivered, but also, today, 16th October I receive a (bulky) brochure postmarked 21st September from the UK (for which, needless to say, I had already emailed the recipient to complain about the fact that their web submission must not have been working) when it obviously was. Sorry! So I will now receive a duplicate of the above mentioned brochure, which will finish in the paper ONLY wheelie bin and contribute to extra costs in recycling, ugh.
No fingers being pointed here, but ... we are in the hands of the gods, when it comes to getting our post, it seems these days, However innovative you are, however many items you have managed to have delivered by electronic means instead of through snail mail, a postal strike will underline your dependance!
Until we meet again, our Italian correspondent Olivia.
